Airdrie's Ayden Makarus and the rest of Alberta's baseball team added another win to their record yesterday (August 1) and automatically advanced to the semi-finals at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.

Facing Team Quebec for the second time this week, Alberta was able to pull off a 9-5 win and improved their round robin record to five wins and one loss.

Makarus had two hit in four at-bats, which he leveraged into a run in the game. He also had two RBIs, a double and a triple. Meanwhile, he had a flawless game on third base.

Team Alberta finished the round robin at the top of Group A, and thus automatically advance to the semi-final game tomorrow (August 3).

The team will enjoy a rest day today, before they take on the undefeated Team Manitoba in the semi-final game at 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon.
