Airdrie's Jordan McConnell will have something different on his jersey this year with the Calgary Canucks.

The 19 year old was named one of the four alternate captains for the Canucks for the remainder of the season.

McConnell joins teammates Josh Giacomin, Hayden Ursulak and Mark Drohans as alternates, while Lethbridge native Kyler Newman will war the Captain's C.

McConnell is in his second season with the Canucks, where he already has 2 goals and 7 assists in 11 games.

Since joining the team last year, McConnell has racked up 45 total points.
