This year's Western Hockey League (WHL) playoffs will have multiple Airdronians teams competing for the championship.

Two Airdonians have already clinched a spot with their respective teams, while one Airdronian and his team are making one final push.

Josh Davies and the Portland Winterhawks currently sit second in the Western Conference with only three games left on their schedule. On the season, Davies has 52 games played with a total of 61 points, 36 goals and 25 assists.

Just recently, Davies signed an entry-level contract with the team that drafted him back in 2022 with the 186th pick in the NHL draft, the Florida Panthers. Previously, Davies spent his whole junior career playing with the Swift Current Broncos.

The Moose Jaw Warriors and Noah Degenstein also made the playoffs and sit second in the Eastern Conference. Degenstein has 39 games played on the season with three assists.

Currently a rookie, Degenstein was drafted in the second round of the 2022 WHL Prospect Draft. He was a member of the Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA team last season. He finished with eight goals and eleven assists for a total of 19 points in 36 games.

Wyatt Pisarczyk and the Calgary Hitmen find themselves fighting for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Currently, they are three points behind the Prince Albert Raiders with three games left. One of them is tonight against the Saskatoon Blades.

In 53 games played this year as a rookie, Pisarczyk has three goals and 14 assists. From 2019 until 2022, Pisarczyk was a member of the U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme. In 75 games, he scored 21 goals and provided 49 assists. Pisarczyk played in 21 games during his one season with the U18 AAA Airdrie CFR Bison, tallying five goals and eleven assists.

Airdronian Keegan Slaney and the Regina Pats will, unfortunately, miss the playoffs this year. They currently sit last in the Eastern Conference with three games to play. In 59 games played, he has two goals and nine assists.

Slaney has spent his previous seasons playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings and Calgary Hitmen. In 175 career games, Slaney has a total of 34 points, 10 goals and 24 assists.

This week is the final week when it comes to regular season games.
