Jake Neighbours of Airdrie and his St. Louis Blues teammates are both on a roll.

Neighbours scored a pair of goals last night to lead St. Louis to a 3 - 1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.  For the Blues, who are 27-21-2 for the year, it was their sixth win in seven games.  Jordan Kyrou also scored for St. Louis.  Joel Hofer got the start in goal for the Blues and made 33 saves in the win.

Kyle Okposo scored the only goal of the night for the Sabres who drop to 22-25-4 this year.  Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen blocked 23 shots in the Buffalo goal.

Neighbours opened the scoring with a powerplay marker 12:53 into the game.  He was in his familiar position, parked in the opposition crease, distracting the goaltender when St. Louis' Pavel Buchnevich attempted to tip a shot and deflected it to Neighbours who backhanded it into the net for his 16th goal of the season.  It was his sixth game-opening goal of the year, the third most in the NHL behind David Pastrnak of Boston and Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers who have eight and seven respectively.

Neighbours' second of the night came with the Sabres pressing to tie the game. Lukkonen gave up a big rebound that bounced to Neighbours in the right faceoff circle.  He fired it home at the 18:03 mark of the third period to give St. Louis the 3 - 1 final.

Neighbours has now scored 17 goals in 50 games this season.  In his first 52 NHL games he had seven goals

Neighbours and the Blues are in Montreal today to take on the Canadiens.
