Several young athletes with the Nose Creek Swim Association rose to the podium last weekend at the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Open in Winnipeg.

The four day event featured top performers, several medals and club records being shattered.

Michael Schaan was one of those record breakers, scoring a top time in the 200 metre fly and breaking the record in that swim from 20 years ago. He also broke records in the 50 metre breaststroke and butterfly. Hailey Martin also broke a club record when she swam a time of 12 minutes 49 seconds in the 800 metre freestyle.

Schaan's teammate in one of those relays, Reid Glatz, also had an impressive weekend, winning a Gold medal in the 200 metre freestyle and bronze in the 200 metre backstroke.

Once again, Alex Sharpe dominated in his weekend races, winning two gold medals and was named Swimmer of the Meet after improving his world ranking to 14th.

Other swimmers who rose to the top included Keegan Brown with a Bronze in the 400 metre freestyle and silver in the 14-15 relay.
