A small but mighty group of decorated vehicles honked and cheered as it made its way through the streets of Airdrie on Sunday.

Airdronian Meaghan Easthope was part of the group that put together weekly Airdrie Birthday Parades to cheer up children whose parties had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

Easthope had been thinking about planning a similar parade for Pride. After the rainbow walkway at Nose Creek Park was vandalized, Easthope took buckets of chalk down to write messages of love and support on surrounding paths.
