The RCMP, in the interest of public safety, has issued a warning about the release of Johnny Kootney in the area.

Kootenay will be released from Drumheller Institution on Wednesday, November 23, after serving a two-year term behind bars for aggravated assault. He's described as a 49 year-old, native male, 5'6" tall, 170 lbs, brown eyes, and black hair. It's expected he will be residing in the Morley, Alberta area. Kootenay has been convicted of numerous violent criminal offences.

The intent of the warning is to allow the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not engage in any form of vigilante action.
