Rob Seeley has been a resident of Canmore for more than 20 years and a business owner in both Banff and Canmore for a good part of that time. Seeley has been involved with the Progressive Conservatives since 2003, acting as vice-president of the party for Canmore and director for current MLA Janis Tarchuk, who announced recently she will not be seeking another term. Seeley says his knowledge of and previous work in the Banff-Cochrane riding will make him a strong candidate and representative should he win the nomination.

Seeley has been a resident of the Bow Valley since 1990. He contributes many volunteer hours on various community initiatives. Personal highlights include working with a strong, diligent community group (the Canmore Rotary Club) to revitalize Canmore’s Terry Fox Run, successfully making it a top 5 run site in Alberta. He has initiated recreation development in the Town of Canmore and supported, through the Small Business Association of Banff, the Fenlands Recreation Centre redevelopment in Banff. This community involvement, as well as raising a family and running a business in the area, has given him a deep understanding of many aspects of the constituency.

Seeley says he'll focus heavily on education, seniors housing and care, along with sustainable long-term funding for Alberta’s tourism industry.

The Progressive Conservative nomination is happening January 28.
