Rocky View Schools has announced that on Tuesday, August 22, they will be hosting their annual 'My First Ride' in the Airdrie area, which also includes Crossfield, Kathyrn, and Beiseker.

"To help families prepare for the new school year, RVS is hosting the in-person event for new bus riders presented by RVS bus contractors. Families are welcome to attend the free event to learn more about safely riding the school bus. Bus contractors and school division staff will be on hand to answer any questions," an RVS spokesperson stated.

Families can also watch RVS' short bus safety video with information on what to expect and how to stay safe when taking the school bus.

RVS is also reminding parents that Tuesday, August 15 is the last day to register for transportation to guarantee bus service on the first day of school.

"Registration received after this deadline may cause delays of two to three weeks."

A step-by-step guide to registration is available on the RVS Registration & Fee Payment or CCSD Registration & Fee Payment pages of the RVS website.
