The Airdrie Highlanders are hoping to grow the love of Rugby in the city.

Last year, the local program suspended their senior temas to a lack of players, but now they're hoping to build for the future.

"The hope here is that we can get involved in the schools and kind of spread the love of Rugby through the community and then with that hope, we should have a ton of players with the same love of Rugby as we do," says Mitch Dorgan with the Highlanders.

Dorgan along other Highlanders ran Rugby development classes this week at W.H Croxford High School, he says there's more to come.

"We will be in WG Murdoch in Crossfield. Hopefully we'll be in Bert Church here pretty soon and then there's a few more we've been looking at as well. Middle Schools, High Schools, pretty much anything."

At the end of the day, Dorgan is happy to share his passion with local youth.

"It's fantastic, there's not much I'd rather be doing than trying to help other people who haven't had the opportunity to play Rugby or see Rugby get that opportunity. It's been a huge success, we've all been having a blast."
