Once every year, The City of Airdrie transforms into a banquet of culture and creativity with ARTember.

This year, the members of Creative Airdrie decided to hold the annual festival over an extended weekend instead of the usual month long string of activities.

However, this year's edition of ARTember will be without it's marquee moment: Rock The Rails.

On Tuesday Morning, Creative Airdrie sadly announced they were cancelling the concert series which would have brought Country Star Brad Sims and Pop Group Gin Blossoms to our stage.

Deanna Hunter with Creative Airdrie says that ticket sales were low and that it would not be financially feasible to hold the concerts.

All is not lost however, as Rock The Rails will be replaced by another concert featuring St. James Gate and the recent SLAM on AIR winners Savage Playground.

That concert will take place on the opening day of ARTember, September 30th.
