It didn't look good for the Rocky View Junior "B" Silvertips last night (July 2).

The game was a minute and a half old and the Calgary Mountaineers had already scored three goals.  Head coach Cam Foss needed to do something to change momentum in the game and a goaltender switch seemed to do that as the Silvertips came back and beat the Mounties 10 - 8 in Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League play in Cochrane.

"We kind of started slow," says Foss, "spotted them three goals and then made a goalie switch, just changed the momentum and guys kind of picked it up and we went from there."

Foss says it was a big win as the 'Tips chase a playoff spot.  "Well the team we just beat is the team we're chasing so that was a big win.  I think we have a shot here if we just keep winning."

Now that the team has a full roster, Foss thinks they've ready to roll.  "We finally got everbody back here.  A couple of guys are going to be playing up with the Junior "A" Mountaineers for the next couple of games and then they'll be down here with us for the rest of the season so that's a big boost, a huge boost for us."

Yesterday's game was the second of the weekend for the Silvertips.  On Friday night they dropped a close 9 - 7 contest to the Calgary Chill.

The club plays in Airdrie at the Plainsman Arena on Saturday night when they face the Okotoks Marauders.

Game time is 5:30 pm.
