Team Canada went through a perfect tournament this past weekend in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup on their road to gold.

Canada went undefeated on their way to a 4-1 win over Sweden to capture the 23rd U18 Summer Championship gold and the first gold medal since 2018, the last time the tournament was held in Canada. A team headlined by the likes of NHL players such as Peyton Krebs, Alexis Lafreniere, and Bowen Byram.

This year's team, led by Calum Ritchie, Brayden Yager, and Ethan Gauthier went 5-0 outscoring their opponents 34-3 on the way to gold.

The Hlinka Gretzky Cup will shift to Europe in 2023, returning to Breclav and Piestany, Czechia for the first time since 2021.

Canada advanced to the final after a 4-1 win over Finland, while Sweden defeated Czechia 6-2. Finland beat Czechia 3-1 in Saturday's bronze-medal final to claim bronze at the event.

Team Canada will look to continue capturing gold when they return to Breclav and Piestany, Czechia in 2023 for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
