Yesterday (August 10), Airdrie's Sam Gagne and Team Alberta took on team B.C. in the soccer quarterfinals at the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.

After 80 minutes of regular play, both teams stood scoreless. It took shots from both teams on the penalty line to determine the win.

Gagne scored one of three Alberta goals while the Alberta goalkeeper turned aside two B.C. shots to give Alberta the win.

Alberta will move onto the semifinals tonight at 6:30 our time where they'll play Team Manitoba for the right to play for the gold.
