It seems Airdrie hockey players love to follow the rule of three's after last weekend.
All Airdrie Lightning teams suited up the South Central Alberta Hockey League with many players scoring a hat trick.
Carter Mcdermid had three goals for the Pee Wee Lightning in their 6-2 win over Central Alberta on February 11th. The team unfortunately fell to Olds the next day 11-3.
Another Pee Wee player also recorded a hat trick as Cooper Brown's 3 goals helped the Lightning Red to a 7-2 win over Cranbrook on Saturday, before falling 7-3 to Foothills on Sunday.
While his Bantam Lighting didn't win over the weekend, Evan Mulchahy scored 2 goals in 5-5 tie over Red Deer and another goal in a 9-3 loss against the Cranbrook Hornets.
Finally, it was the Midget Lightning's turn to add to the hat trick pot as Jonathan Lake scored three times in a 4-0 shutout of Olds on Sunday.
Brett LeGrandeur had three assists for the boys in a 6-1 win over the Red Deer Ellks on Saturday.
