The Airdrie Thunder are back in the saddle with a win against the Ponoka Stampeders on December 16.

The Thunder were looking for redemption after dropping two straight games against the Mountainview Colts and the Red Deer Vipers the previous weekend, losing by a combined score of 12-4 over the two games. The Thunder got back into the win column with a roaring 11-3 win against Ponoka at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

Clay Murray led the scoring with tree goals and one assist. Dante Raposo and Andrew McLennan also grabbed four points apiece, each with two goals and two assists.

The Thunder will have one day of rest before their penultimate game of 2016, when the travel to Blackfalds to take on the Wranglers on December 18. The Thunder will play one final game in the calendar year against the Stettler Lightning on December 23.
