After having had their seven-game Heritage Junior Hockey League winning streak halted by the Medicine Hat Cubs in overtime on Sunday, the Airdrie Thunder will try to start another tonight (December 13).

The Thunder welcome the Sylvan Lake Wranglers to the Ron Ebbesen Arena for an 8:00 pm game.

If previous meetings this season between the two are any indication, tonight's contest should be an entertaining one.  Back on September 27th, the Wranglers came into Airdrie's home rink and handed the Thunder a 3 - 2 loss.  Then on November 3rd, it was Airdrie's turn to spoil the Wranglers' home party with a 5 - 3 win in Sylvan Lake.

Airdrie does lead the Northern Division by nine points over the Wranglers, who have played two more games than the Thunder.

It's the first of two weekend games for the Thunder who also hit the road on Sunday for a late afternoon encounter in Strathmore against the Wheatland Kings.

Also on tonight's HJHL schedule, the Mountainview Colts travel to Rocky to meet the Rams.  The Colts have dropped into fourth place in the Northern Division behind Airdrie, Sylvan Lake, and the Red Deer Vipers.
