The Airdrie Techmation Thunder is batting .667 after a pair of wins in three Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) games in the past week.

Last Wednesday (November 9) the Thunder scored a converted touchdown and added a field goal (in keeping with the sports analogies) and pounded the Three Hills Thrashers 10 - 5 in a game that was a make-up following last Saturday's postponement due to weather and road conditions.

The game was tight until the halfway mark with the Thrashers actually holding leads of 3 - 2 and 4 - 3.  Once the Thunder tied things up a Zach Couling marker just before the middle of the second they dominated with six more goals after that.  Three of their markers came on a natural hattrick by Jeremy Jobin who scored the eighth, ninth, and tenth Airdire goals.

On Friday the Thrashers made the return trip to Airdrie and once again the Thunder filled the Three Hills net, winning by a score of 9 - 2.

Airdrie got three goals from Will Barrett and a pair from Jobin to lead the way.

Last night Airdrie travelled to Rocky Mountain House for a game against the Rams who went into the game trailing the Thunder by six points in the North Division.  Once the smoke cleared, the Rams were just four back as they pulled out a 4 - 2 win.

Rocky scored three second periods goals and one in the third for the victory.  Reed Chalmers had given the Thunder a 1 - 0 lead less than seven minutes into the game but that was all the goals the Thunder could produce until Jack Turton scored with 11 seconds remaining in the contest.

The three results mean Airdrie is in the North Division with a record of 8 - 6 - 0.  They're two points back of second-place Sylvan Lake and trail the first-place Mountainview Colts by four.

Airdrie welcomes the Red Deer Vipers to the Ron Ebbesen Arena on Friday night for an 8:00 pm game.  On Saturday they travel to Strathmore to take on the Wheatland Kings.
