The Airdrie Thunder took an unlikely win on Friday against the Ponoka Stampeders on Friday.

The Thunder, who were down for most the game were able to tie things up at 5-5 but not before fists were thrown from Clay Murray. Taking a penalty, Airdrie was able to hold off the Stampeders until overtime where Jacob MacDonald would go on to score the sudden death game winner.

Aidrie still sits atop the leaderboards, two points ahead of Okotoks in second. Airdrie takes the ice again at 8pm on Friday against the Mountainview Colts.
