The second last regular season weekend in the Heritage Junior Hockey League got off to a flying start for the Airdrie Thunder and a crushing one for the Three Hills Thrasers.

The Thunder fired a total of 75 shots at Three Hills starting goaltender Klay Munro and his backup Alex Jones who took over midway through the game en route to an 11 - 1 victory.

By comparison, Three Hills could only muster 18 shots at Thunder goalie C.J. Wedenig.

Rylan Plante-Crough was the top point getter for the Thunder with five, on two goals and three assists.

Clay Murray, Jared Bainbridge and Jacob MacDonald also scored twice for the Thunder with singles coming off the sticks of Matt Thomson, Brett Campbell, and Dante Raposo.

Elsewhere last night, the Mountainview Colts went down to defeat at the hands of the Blackfalds Wranglers by a 7 - 3 score.

Tonight, the Cochrane Generals, who sit third in the HJHL Southern Division, face off against the team in fourth spot, the High River Flyers.

Game time is 7:30 at the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre.
