The rich got richer and the poor stayed that way last night (October 20) in a Heritage Junior Hockey League game played in Airdrie.

The hometown Thunder fired at will, a barrage of 69 shots at the Three Hills goaltender, including 32 in the third period, on their way to a 7 - 2 victory over the winless Thrashers.

Rylan Plante-Crough scored a hat trick for the Thunder while Jacob MacDonald added a pair.

Clay Murray and Kristopher LeClair scored the other Airdrie goals.

The win improves the Thunder's record to 7 - 1 and 1, leaving them in first place in the HJHL Northern Division, four points ahead of the Mountainview Colts who kept pace with the Thunder with a 5 - 3 win over the Generals in Cochrane.

The Generals record falls to 4 and 5.

Tonight the Thunder are in Stettler for a 7:30 pm game against the Lightning while the Generals travel to Coaldale to meet the Copperheads starting at 8:30 pm.
