It was a wild 60 minutes at the Ron Ebbesen Arena last night (March 12th) as the Airdrie Thunder and the Red Deer Vipers met in Game Four of their North Division final.

Airdrie was down two games to one on the series and needed a huge offensive showing to get back into the series.

The Thunder showed nothing but offensive prowess in the first 2 periods as they quickly skated out to a 6-0 lead thanks to two goals from Dante Raposo and Zach Giroux.

The third period was a different story, however, as the Vipers mounted a fierce comeback with three goals from Logan Linnell and one from Tristyn Zarubiak.

The Thunder contested two of those goals as the team felt that goalie Ryan Simpson was interfered with, drawing similar frustration and jeers from the sell out crowd.

Brett Campbell though would put away any thoughts of a Vipers comeback by scoring the Thunder’s fourth powerplay goal of the night to leave the final score at 7-4.

With the win, the best of seven series is now tied at 2-2 with Game Five taking place tomorrow night in Red Deer.
