The "Saturday Halloween Movement" is not new and recently resurfaced online. It's now gone viral, garnering more than 150,000 signatures in just a few days.

Society has been celebrating Halloween on the last day of October for centuries but now people in the US are trying to change that, with a petition. The petition asks to change the date, and celebrate Halloween on the last Saturday in October instead.

The petition states multiple reasons for the change. Like safety, sleep for both parents and kids among other items. The petition has faced some backlash from people who want to keep the holiday status quo. Others joke about wanting to see the holiday extended. Even companies are getting on board. The official Twitter account for Snickers wrote that if the date is officially changed, they'll give out one million free candy bars.
