A storm blew through parts of Alberta last night, causing some treacherous driving conditions especially on the QEII.

RCMP is warning the public of poor road conditions along Highway 2 between Red Deer and Airdrie. Black ice and changing conditions are affecting visibility and surface traction on the road.

Heading towards Calgary roads are mostly snow covered as well.

The forcast is calling for more snow or flurries through the day today and continuing into tomorrow, its also calling for periods of high winds which could cause more icy roads and whiteout conditions.

Crews are out trying to clear the roads. In the meantime if you plan on travelling the highways this weekend, use caution and be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to where you are going.
