It was night two of the Western Hockey League (WHL) season last night (February 27) with the same four Alberta teams that met on night one meeting again.

A pair of Airdrie natives contributed three assists on the night for Edmonton as the Oil Kings won for the second night in a row decisively, dumping the Hurricanes 7 - 2 in Lethbridge. In their season opener Friday. Edmonton pounded Red Deer 7 - 1,

Jake Neighbours followed up his goal and two assist performance in the opener by adding two more assists last night while Keagan Slaney also picked up an assist for Edmonton.

Dylan Guenther continued his torrid scoring pace to start the season for the Oil Kings with his second two-goal night as well as adding an assist.  Guenther now has seven points, as does Edmonton's Kaid Oliver who had two goals and two assists in last night's win.

Former Airdrie player Jett Jones was held off the scoresheet for the Hurricanes and was a minus one.

The other game saw the Medicine Hat Tigers win their second of the weekend in their home opener against the Red Deer Hurricanes.  

Another former Airdrie star Caleb Willms from Cochrane, who played with the U15 Xtreme and U18 Bisons as well as the U16 AC Avalanche picked up a pair of assists as the Tigers downed the Rebels 7 - 2.  Two more ex-Airdrie players, Rhett Parsons from Cremona and Damon Agyeman from Cochrane were also in the Tigers lineup.  

Friday night the Tigers beat the Reels 5 - 4 in overtime.  

On Saturday, March 5th the Tigers travel to Edmonton to face the Oil Kings then the two teams head back to Medicine Hat for the return match on Saturday.
