According to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), there are two unclaimed lottery-winning prizes that very well may mean big winnings for locals.

A LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball ticket that was drawn on November 12, 2022, somewhere in Alberta (excluding Calgary and Edmonton) is worth $1,000,000. The lucky numbers drawn were: 27626701-01

While a more recent LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball ticket, drawn on March 8, 2023, also somewhere in Alberta - and not in Calgary or Edmonton, is also worth $1,000,000. The numbers on that ticket are 29731883-01.

If you happen to be one of the lucky winners, there are ways of getting your prize money.

"If you've won a prize worth $1,001 or more, you can claim it at a prize office. Physical tickets purchased at a Lotto Spot retailer may also be claimed by mail," states the WCLC.

"Unclaimed prizes on national games are returned to players through guaranteed Jackpots and Bonus draws. Unclaimed prizes on regional games are returned to the member provinces and territories as revenue," the WCLC stated on their website. "All lottery tickets have specific expiry dates and no prizes can be paid after that time."

DAILY GRAND, LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, WESTERN 649, WESTERN MAX, POKER LOTTO, EXTRA, KENO and PICK tickets expire one year from the draw date, while SPORT SELECT ticket holders have one year from the date the last selected game was played to claim any prizes. ZING (SCRATCH 'N WIN) tickets have an expiry date printed on the back of the ticket.
