One of Airdrie's young soccer teams had a season to remember in the Calgary Minor Soccer Association.

The U16 Boys AFC wrapped up their regular season last Saturday with a 0-0 draw over the EMFC Selects.

That draw put AFC's final record at 6 wins 0 losses and 2 draws for 20 points. Although they put together an unbeaten regular season, they settled for second in the Tier 2 standings as Lethbridge finished with a 7-0-1 record and 21 points.

Regardless, the team and their coaches are ecstatic for what the season meant for local soccer.

"These capable players have really stepped up when we’ve asked them to help out," says Head Coach Paul Godden,  "Clearly, the Airdrie minor soccer association has helped to develop exceptional soccer players at all age levels.“

With the 2017 regular season done, the AFC U16 Boys are now getting ready for the Provincial Tournament which runs August 11th-13th in Calgary.
