Airdrie's Pinoy Basketball League is up and going for their 4th season.

The City's only Filipino Basketball League started their 2017 Spring season on Saturday (April 15) with an impressive opening ceremonies.

Eight teams will be suiting up for the Spring season including three returning clubs from the Fall season: Airdrie Bears, Adessa 2.0 and 2Y Welding. The Saints are rejoining the league after they played in last year's Spring season.

For the first time ever, a Cochrane team will be playing this season along with Barrio, You First Dental and Istorbo from Airdrie.

After the opening ceremonies wrapped up, the real action began as all eight teams faced each other on day one. Here's how the games turned out:

COCHRANE 65  -  ISTORBO 58

SAINTS 58   -  ADESSA 2.0  64

2Y  82   -   YOU FIRST DENTAL  76

BARRIO 81  -  AIRDRIE BEARS  74.

 

The teams will meet for week 2 of the season on Saturday, May 7.
