On Tuesday afternoon, the Airdrie RCMP reported that a housefire had broken out in the Hillcrest neighbourhood. 

Crews are still on scene. Surrounding houses are damaged and residents in the area were seen dousing their homes with water.

Police and fire are requesting traffic to avoid Hillcrest Terrace.
