On Friday morning Airdronians who was commuting to work and school were taken aback when they saw a moose meandering around the city. Social media was flooded with photos and videos of the moose, though it was later confirmed by the Airdrie RCMP that were in fact two moose - a mother and her yearling.

Although Mounties had said Fish and Wildlife was called, no updates have been given since mid-morning as to whether the moose and her yearling were relocated or have moved on.

In the morning RCMP advised that the moose and a yearling are in the area of Bert Church High School and its mother is in the area of R. J. Hawkey Elementary School.

RCMP asked the public to stay away from the area to allow for the moose to move along.
