Airdronian axe throwers return home from the World Championships with an impressive showing.

Kendra and Nick Kolomyja made Airdrie proud when competing in Fort Worth Texas. Kendra placed 89th in regular hatchet while Nick placed 17th. In duals, the couple placed an astonishing 7th place together out of 60 teams.

Nick, to say the least, wasn't impressed with his finishing.

“For me, it was a hard pill to swallow. But at the same time, a great learning experience. I don't really look at it like I lost. I know where I made mistakes and move forward from there. 2022, here we come.”

The Kolomyja’s are ready for next season and Kendra can't wait for their next tournament.

“They've actually just put out the new league schedule and they're formalizing the tournament schedule for the upcoming year. I think the next tournament that we're planning on being at is at Cascadia Axe, which is in Oregon.”

Cascadia Axe Tournament will take place in late January in Medford, Oregon.

Nick was excited to be back at such a high-level competition tournament and see everybody they met from the last World Championship they were at.

“It was awesome to see the level of competition we are throwing against because we'd been out of the loop for two years now because the COVID and really haven't seen the progression and how much it's made and where the sport has gone.”

Kendra and Nick really want to thank Rival Axe Throwing out of Airdrie for supporting them through their axe-throwing careers and hope to keep getting their support with the season to come.
