Two Cochrane players are involved in the Western Hockey League's conference finals that got underway last night.

The Eastern final featuring the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Regina Pats got started in Regina.  Cochrane's Tyler Wong and the rest of the Hurricanes got the early jump on the Pats with a 3 - 1 win.

Wong was held off the scoresheet but teammate Giorgio Estephan scored twice to lead the Hurricanes.

In the West, Dillon Dube of Cochrane chipped in with one assist but his Kelowna Rockets lost the series opener to the Seattle Thunderbirds by a 5 - 4 score.

Both series continue tonight in Regina and Seattle.
