You would hope that between two teams with Airdrie players on them in last night's (April 14) Western Hockey League games that there would be something to talk about in the scoring department.

Alas, it was not to be as both Josh Davies' Swift Current Broncos and Craig Armstrong's Prince George Cougars both came up with zeros on the scoreboard.

The Broncos continued their rough year in the WHL by dropping a 3 - 0 game to the Saskatoon Blades.  The Broncos now have a 3-13-1 record in the league's East Division.

Davies, who has five goals in his first WHL season, was held to just one shot on goal.

In the B.C. Division Armstrong and the Cougars faced off against the Kamloops Blazers and were also held scoreless, losing 5 - 0.  Armstrong is playing well in his second campaign in the WHL with five goals and a pair of assists in seven games but had only two shots on goal and was a minus one against the Blazers.

Elsewhere in the league last night the Spokane Chiefs downed the Portland Winter Hawks 5 - 4 and the Brandon Wheat Kings prevailed 5 - 3 against the Winnipeg Ice.

Tonight two more Airdrie players are in action.  Jake Neighbours and Keagan Slaney lead the 12-1 Edmonton Oil Kings into Lethbridge to face the Hurricanes.
