It's done. Where did it go. You are back at work thinking about the weekend and you can't figure out where it all went. Long weekends really aren't that long. This is why we need another day. 4 day weekends should be mandatory and there are good reasons why.

1. You never get everything done you thought you would

When it's Friday, you think you have all the time in the world. All those extra chores you have been putting off for weeks you can finally do. You have so much extra time! Now it's Tuesday and the closet still hasn't been reorganized nor have you tackled your pantry and thrown out that bottle of A1 Steak Sauce you have had since the dawn of time that stares at you every time you open the door. You got a lot of the usual stuff done, but there just wasn't enough time. If only you had one more day...

2. You were just getting relaxed

You were almost there. Almost fully relaxed. It starts Saturday, with you starting to unwind. Sunday, you don't have to worry, you still don't have to work Monday so you really start to get relaxed. But then it's Monday. Now you have to go back to work tomorrow. That relaxation that was almost there is gone. If you only had one more day...

3. You're missing out on the summer

We don't live in Florida. We only have a few months of great weather to enjoy and you can't enjoy it stuck at work. 3 days is a great opportunity to go enjoy the nice weather, but you feel like you have to cram everything in still. Trips are a panic to leave late Friday or at the crack of dawn Saturday, and then in 2 short days, you're back on the road heading home. If you only had one more day....

4 day long weekends. At least in the summer. The provincial election will be just around the corner and if any candidates find their way to this blog. I have a feeling I'm not the only one who this would win over. If that doesn't work, I have money. Not a lot. I hope I can bribe you in McChickens.
