At Thursday's Rocky View Schools Board of Trustees meeting, it was revealed that the build of the new school in Williamstown is delayed between 4 - 6 weeks.

Darrell Couture, Associate Superintendent with RVS, presented the report to the trustees, noting that any overage costs will be covered by the construction company assigned to the build, as per the contract agreed upon at the beginning of the project.

"While we are concerned that the contractor is behind," said Couture, "it's too early to comment on the schools completion."

RVS does have a representative on site to make sure the build stays as close to being on schedule, but cannot control if and when the contractor shows up to work, if they even do at all.

It's expected that the board will look at the progress of the build, if any, at the end of April 2012 to make a decision on the possibility of the school being ready for the 2012/2013 school year, and if another contractor is needed to complete the building in the expected time frame.
