The seven members of the Airdrie Xtreme played a big factor in Team Central's first win at the Alberta Cup that got underway today (April 26) in Spruce Grove.

The Xtreme's Craig Armstrong scored a pair of goals and his teammate Ty Mueller assisted on both of them and added a goal of his own to pace Central to a 6 - 2 win over Team Northwest this morning.

Xtreme players Tristan Zandee and Brett Moravec chipped in assists on the fifth Central goal by Jayden Henderson of Sylvan Lake.

Other members of the Xtreme who are suiting up for Team Central include Keagan Slaney, Colton Koran, and Sam Vincent.

Team Central is back in action this afternoon at 5:30 pm when they take on Calgary North who lost 8 - 4 to Edmonton Yellow in their first game.

The tournament features the best 2003 born players in the province and is being watched by scouts from the Western Hockey League in advance of the Bantam Draft next Wednesday in Red Deer.
