Airdrie's Ryan Zachary and Team Alberta have had a busy few days of volleyball action a the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.

Yesterday (August 8), Alberta went head to head with Team Ontario. Going into the match, the two teams were tied for first place in Group A with a 2-0 record each. Ontario would prevail, winning three of four sets. The Albertans snatched the first set of the game by two point, going up 30-28 against the Ontarians. Ontario bounced back, winning the second set 25-23. Alberta was not able to get things together in the third set, with Ontario taking that one 25-19. Ontario sealed the deal in the fourth set 25-23, knocking Alberta to second place.

Zachary and the Albertans put the loss behind them, and came out strong this morning (August 9) against Team New Brunswick. Alberta won three straight sets, allowing only 22 points in set one and two, and winning the third set 25-18.

The Albertans now sit with a 3-1 record, and will play their final round robin game this evening. They face Team Manitoba at 5:00pm.
