On Tuesday evening, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a fog advisory for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.

"Dense fog has developed over portions of southern Alberta and is spreading west, giving near zero visibility over some areas. Conditions are expected to improve on Wednesday afternoon," the advisory stated.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

"Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop."

The fog advisory is also in effect for Cochrane, Olds, as well as Sundre.

Currently, the QEII Southbound from Airdrie towards Calgary is noted as having good visibility, though motorists are reminded that this may change throughout the evening. North of Airdrie, towards Crossfield and Carstairs, visibility has also been noted as good.
