The Airdrie FC U8 Girls are basking in a silver glow today.

The team took the silver medal on Saturday, June 17, at the Okotoks Outdoor Jamboree tournament.

In their opening game, Airdrie FC battled the Edmonton Selects to a scoreless draw.  They then met the Foothills Blizzard and came away with a 2 - 1 win.

The Airdrie girls then took on the Foothills Venom and scored a 3 - 2 victory to set up a re-match with the Edmonton Selects for the gold medal.

Airdrie FC battled hard but fell just short, losing 1 - 0 with Edmonton scoring the game's only goal a few minutes into the second half.
