A member of the local hockey community is in India to help encourage the next generation of female Hockey players.
Director of Hockey Operations for the Airdrie Minor Hockey Association, Darrin Harrold is one of 13 hockey enthusiasts heading to the Himalayan region of Ladakh in Northern India.
Joining Harrold is four time Olympic Gold Medalist Hayley Wickenheiser and former NHL player Andrew Ference.
The team is bringing donations of hockey equipment and their knowledge of the game to the Women's Ice Hockey Team in Ladakh.
The visit is a way to prepare the National team for their trip to Calgary, where they'll take part in the Wickenheiser World Female Hockey Festival this November.
More information on the Indian Women's Ice Hockey Team is found on their official website.
