You could say the Airdrie A's were swimming upstream in yesterday's (July 18) game at the Canadian Senior Baseball Championship in Edmonton.

The Alberta champions were forced to not only battle Team Atlantic but also the weather as the start of the game was delayed by rain which also forced a stoppage during the action.

In the end, Airdrie got past the weather but couldn't handle the Atlantic club and fell by a score of 10 - 0.  The loss leaves Airdrie with a 1 and 4 record at the tournament.

The A's get today off as only four teams will be in action because of this afternoon's Skills Competition and this evening's banquet.

The next time Airdrie will hit the field will be tomorrow at noon when they face Quebec who sit with a two win, three loss record.

The tournament is scheduled to wind up with the gold medal game on Sunday afternoon followed by the closing ceremonies and medal presentation.
