After competing in and winning Provincials, an Airdrie bowler will have the chance to bowl in the Nationals as part of the Bantam Girls Divison.

Hermionie Daling, a 10-year-old Airdrie bowler from Airdrie, says she's excited to travel to the Nationals.

"I'm going to Oshawa for (the) bowling nationals as an Alberta Singles Girl."

The Nationals will take place in Oshawa, Ontario, and Daling had to compete hard to win the chance to go.

"I did this tournament called Provincials and I had to do the stepladder. So, the third person had to beat the second person once and then the first person twice. I did that."

The Nationals will be taking place from May 3-8, and with Daling being a singles competitor, she will have no team along with her.

However, she will be accompanied by coach Dawn Halvorson.

Daling says she has been competing for almost half of her life.

"For about five years now."

Despite winning, and herself admitting that she is a "good" bowler, Daling says winning isn't her favourite part in bowling.

"I like my coach and I just like meeting new people."

Even when asked what excited her most about Nationals, Daling said she just wants to meet new people

"I'm excited to make new friends."
