Airdrie's Conner Fortier has his hand in a pair of Team Alberta wins in baseball today (August 14) at the Western Canada Summer Games in Swift Current.

He also got his arms and legs involved in victories over Saskatchewan and Manitoba as the games entered their second phase.

In their opener, Alberta took on Saskatchewan and handed their prairie counterparts a 10 - 5 setback.  Fortier picked up the win in relief throwing 2-2/3s innings while striking out four Saskatchewan batters.

Team Alberta met Team Manitoba in their second game of the day, dumping them 8 - 3.  Fortier got into that game as a pinch-runner in the fifth inning and scored a run.

Neither the Yukon or Northwest Territories is fielding a baseball team so Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba will see a lot of each other in the three-team tournament over the next three days.

Alberta will face the teams twice each day.  Tomorrow they'll take on Manitoba at 10:00 am and Saskatchewan at 2:00 pm.
