Team Alberta scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning yesterday (August 11) and they would turn out to be all they needed as they hung on for a close 2 - 0 win over New Brunswick at the Baseball Canada Cup.

Airdrie's Ayden Makarus drove in one of those runs with a double.  From there, Alberta pitching took over, holding the host team to just three hits in the game.

The other Airdrie player in the Alberta lineup, Evan Wilde, didn't play in the game.

It was the third win for Alberta against two losses.

This morning at 9:00 am Alberta time, Team Alberta will face Manitoba.
