The Jr. B. Silvertips are one of the hottest teams in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (RMLL) after winning their fourth straight in front of local fans at the SLS Family Sports Centre, June 3.

The Tips could do no wrong in their lopsided 24-5 win over the visiting Sherwood Park Titans. It followed a 19-8 win on the road on Saturday in Lethbridge against the Leth Cudas.

The Tips were up 7-0 before the Titans got on the scoreboard in the dying minutes of the first. A three-goal scoring spree over 45 seconds gave the Tips a 10-1 lead heading into the second. They never looked back. It was 18-2 after two and while the Cudas scored three in the final stanza and the Tips added six more.

Colby Gulutzan lead the team with six goals.

They now boast a 7-3 record that keeps them in contention in the tight race for a playoff berth.

Head coach Tyler Waycott isn't interested in talking about the wins as much as about continuing to strive for improvement in each game.

"It was a good win, it was a good weekend overall. We're trying to ramp up and get better. We're wanting to reach that goal of making the playoffs this year and I think it's important that we keep pushing forward and do those little things that will make us successful."

"It was a really important four points this weekend to achieve. That was our goal to set out to stay pace, stay within the mix and I'm happy that we accomplished that goal."

It's the finer details on the floor that the club will continue to focus upon as playoffs draw closer.

"This weekend, I really liked our ball movement on O and our defence transitioned the ball very well. We'll just build off of those things that I think over the season will make us that much more successful."

The Silvertips are on the road for their rematch with the Olds Mavericks, June 10, before returning home in what should be an exciting matchup against the Mounties on  June 15.
