The Airdrie Midget Elite Lightning of the Alberta Female Hockey League were involved in a pair of weekend shutouts.

One of them went their way while the other one didn't.  On Saturday (November 3rd) the Lightning came away with a tight 1 - 0 win over the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs.

Maeve Van't Klooster scored the only goal for the Lightning while Jocelyn Pearce blocked 18 shots to get the shutout.

On Sunday, the Calgary Fire Red were the opposition and handed the Lightning a 3 - 0 setback.

The weekend split leaves Airdrie in second place in the AFHL's Southern Division with a record of 4 and 2.

This Saturday they'll take to the road for a game with the North Central Impact.
