A couple local Rodeo athletes are moving on at the Calgary Stampede as Pool A action wrapped up earlier this week.

Airdrie’s Jake Vold rode to a 77.5 in his last ride at the Bareback competition which was enough to put him through finishing third overall in the pool.

Vold’s other three scores were 82.5, 86.5 and 88.

Carstairs cowboy Kyle Lucas is also moving on as he finished fourth in the Tie-Down Roping event.

Despite two no times in the event, Lucas did score a time of 7.3 seconds in the first run and 7.0 seconds in the fourth run to put him through.

Cory Solomon from Prairie View, TX won the Tie-Down roping while Richie Champion of Dublin, TX scored first in Bareback.
