Both Dillon Dube with the Calgary Flames and Ty Rattie with the Edmonton Oilers came away with wins yesterday after close away games in Denver and New York.

Local Airdrie player Dillon Dube traveled to Denver with the Calgary Flames to face the Colorado Avalanche after a disappointing home game loss to the St. Louis Blues in the Saddledome on Thursday.

The Avalanche are notoriously good at home after last season, where they dominated most teams unlucky enough to face them at the Pepsi Arena. Despite this, however, the Flames picked up the hard-fought overtime win, 3-1. This puts the Flames in second place in the Pacific Division with three wins and two losses.

The Edmonton Oilers and local player Ty Rattie won 2-1 against the New York Rangers yesterday in New York after a somewhat rough start with them losing the first two games of the season.

Captain Conner McDavid and veteran player Ryan Nugent-Hopkins both up one goal and one assist to secure their team's first win of the season.
