A former Airdrie Xtreme is being rewarded for his good play so far this year in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).

Ryan Straschnitzki, who currently plays for the Humboldt Broncos, was one of 60 players selected for the first ever SJHL/MJHL showcase.

The two day event sees the best college eligible players the SJHL face off against those in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Players compete on three different teams.

Straschnitzki will join Team Scwartz along with Broncos teammates Xavier Labelle and Logan Hunter.

Each of the teams will play two games over the course of the showcase, which runs January 15 and 16 at the Co-operators Centre in Regina.
