Four games start the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs tonight (April 6) and three of them involved players from the local area.

The Moose Jaw Warriors with Airdrie's Barrett Sheen in the lineup got quite a scare from the Prince Albert Raiders in the first round but eventually prevailed in seven games and now face the Swift Current Broncos with the series getting underway tonight in Moose Jaw.

Zachary Cox of Balzac and the Lethbridge Hurricanes host the Brandon Wheat Kings.  In the four games he played in against Red Deer in the first round, Cox scored a pair of goals.

The Tri-City Americans swept the Kelowna in four straight as Cochrane's Connor Bouchard got the better of Calgary Flames draft pick and Cochrane native Dillon Dube and the Rockets.  Tonight, Bouchard and the Americans travel to Victoria to play the Royals.

The other game tonight has the Portland Winter Hawks in Everett to play the Silvertips.
